I have had the pleasure of being mentored by Mr. Herman in the co-op program at William L Dickinson High school. Mr. Herman taught me and all of the co-op students how to manage ourselves in the real world and helped us secure a position in a very reputable Bank. I would highly recommend Mr. Herman as he is a leader and he pushes his students for greatness.

I’ve worked with Mr. Dave Herman when my daughter was in Dickinson High School in Jersey City in their autism program. He was the vice principal then and handles the special education programs and I was in the Special Education Parent Advisory Group. I would have a list of expectations of programs for students and staff presented to him at the beginning of every school year. Mr. Herman was attentive, methodical, and has an uncanny ability to get things done despite his many roles in the school. He thinks outside the box. He was keenly aware of the distinction and skilled in synthesizing information to determine what is in the best interest of our special ed students. With challenging situations, Mr. Herman was able to recall finer points of interactions, identify the conflict and use the information to individualize effective solutions. His interest in helping the students and listening to the parent’s concerns is sincere and it allows him to meaningfully connect with everyone. His commitment to productivity, along with his crazy sense of humor make him a joy to work with. He has a command of leadership, he has exceptional abilities as an educator, advocate, family interventionalist, and cheerleader for his students. His planning, organization, and initiative allowed him to consistently deliver promised outcomes. Mr. Herman is a big big loss to DHS, but a major gain as the principal of PS 15!
