Voted one of the finest restaurants in the state of New York, Artisans restaurant is a place where Lake Placid Lodge Guests can indulge in an evening of excellent food and service. As one of the primary servers in this restaurant, I became familiar with fine dining etiquette and more specifically, improved my hospitality skills. Along the way, I established countless connections and truly learned how to satisfy a customer. This restaurant is only open to Lodge guests and is one of the most well-known and reputable places in the Adirondacks and upstate New York. Additionally, I improved my problem-solving skills by finding the best solution possible as problems may have come up. Show less

This past summer I was fortunate to play semi-professional soccer in Lake Placid, New York for the Black Rock F.C. USL 2 team. During this two-month period, I grew my skills on the soccer field by being an intentional listener, asking questions, and putting myself in a competitive environment to push myself. Our home games were in Lake Placid, but we traveled along the Northeast coast to places like Burlington, VT, Boston, MA, and Connecticut. I arrived in Lake Placid not knowing anyone but the head coach, and I left with many relationships that will go far beyond the game of soccer and last me a lifetime. I connected with players who attend top programs around the country, and some even play for their respected national teams. I grew as a leader by learning to lead in different environments and communicate with people from different backgrounds. I was fortunate to be passed the captain banned when the captain was subbed off. Show less

The trip ended when we arrived back In lake Placid where the students participated in a weekend-long soccer showcase before heading back home.
