Internship Supervisor: Sylvie Durand, director of public programs, Musée McCord Museum Exhibition: "La Ville suspendue" presented throughout the city for the 375e Anniversary of Montreal. My tasks included: -Finding historical photographs to illustrate the history of Montreal; -Searching through the photographic archives of McCord Museum, Montreal Archives, National Library and Archives of Québec, and Montreal’s Historical Associations; -Liaising with the owners of the photographs (institutions or private individuals); -Sourcing photographs; -Obtaining correct caption and credit information; -Keeping accurate records of the selected photographs; -Obtaining suitable digital files of the selected pictures or managing their digitalization at the museum; -Working closely with the coordinator and the graphic designer of the exhibition The McCord Museum tells the story of Montréal through a unique travelling exhibition that changes with each borough. Half of the exhibition will be reinvented each weekend to introduce the borough’s unique history, while the other half will be dedicated to that of Montréal. As it winds it way from park to park with the La Grande Tournée du 375e, this historical exhibition offers the perfect opportunity to learn, be inspired and be entertained by the stories of the people who have contributed to shaping Montréal’s history and neighbourhoods. Thanks to images and personal anecdotes from neighbourhood residents, this unique happening sheds a whole new light on Montréal past and present. Show less
