Dr. Kevin James

It is my honor to recommend Mr. Christopher Gilchrist. Chris has consistently shown a strong desire to improve personally and professionally so I simply could not turn down his request for recommendation. I have known him for the year that I have served as Academic Dean at Herzing University in Atlanta, Georgia and I want you to know that he is a remarkable person. Upon my first meeting with him, I knew I would strategically utilize his talents to positively develop my academic department; he did just that. He has a fire in his belly that drives his good work, especially in the areas of adult education. Chris is responsible for leading the General Studies department which supports the academic mission of the university. The duties of a department chair are instructional, administrative, and supervisory in nature encompassing all courses and programs assigned. Chris leads his area effectively which became the largest program at the Atlanta campus. Professor Gilchrist started his college teaching career in 2004 at Robert Morris College in Chicago, moving on to the City Colleges of Chicago. In 2007, he became an assistant professor at Georgia Military College; he was then promoted to program coordinator and then to department chair and associate professor. He has experience as a developmental educator, an online course architect, an online instructor, and in writing center instruction. Professor Gilchrist is a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English honor society and has also been a member of NADE and NCTE. As my employee, I am always able to rely on Chris to complete tasks effectively. Through his leadership, Herzing University reaffirmed its accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission in 2016. Chris has great energy and innovative ideas. He is open-minded and really friendly -- people immediately feel at ease with him. He has a keen intellectual curiosity and is an experienced educator who frankly gets along with everyone. I recommend Mr. Christopher Gilchrist without reservation. He is not only a terrific employee, but he is a person of strength and integrity. Sincerely, Dr. Kevin E. James Dean, Herzing University
