Experience with Zemax simulations in both sequential and non-sequential modes, for optical performance simulation, tolerancing, and illumination design. Design optical systems ranging from rapid prototyping of novel tools up through working with contract manufacturers on production-ready systems. Work with suppliers on generating supply chains of reliable and high-quality diamond microtome blades, including performing in-house SEM analysis and developing QC protocols. Designed alignment procedures and tooling for optimizing optical performance, and metrics for its assessment.

Experimental and numerical investigations of relativistic intensity ultrafast laser pulse interactions with targets nanostructured for optical absorptivity. Experimental investigations performed at Advanced Laser Light Source (ALLS) in Varennes, QC, Canada, using ~30 fs laser pulses at ~300 mJ per pulse. Double plasma mirrors used for enhanced temporal contrast. Numerical investigations performed on SciNet computer cluster using non-empty parallelized (openMPI) fortran code.
