Facilitating Communication I acted as a vital liaison between international students and the dormitory's residence office. My work involved collecting valuable feedback and opinions from international residents to improve their overall living experience. Cultural Enrichment Recognizing that newly arrived international students were initially hesitant to interact with local Japanese students and often had limited Japanese language skills, I spearheaded various cultural activities to bridge these gaps. My aim was to facilitate mutual understanding through engaging experiences like cherry blossom viewing along the scenic Meguro River, and the Kibasen, an inter-dorm mock cavalry battle. These activities not only nurtured cross-cultural understanding but also provided an informal platform for international students to improve their Japanese language skills through social interaction. Speech Speaking at Wakeijuku's new resident orientation ceremony, I had the privilege of addressing an audience of both Japanese and international students. My speech focused on fostering a vibrant and supportive community where everyone, regardless of their background, could interact and grow together. I encouraged Japanese students to seize the opportunities before them and explore the different pathways. At the same time, I encouraged international students to take proactive steps in engaging with the community and to embrace and learn from Japanese culture and society. Elevating Wakeijuku's Profile in University Guidebooks I was chosen to represent our dormitory in Waseda University's official Entrance Guidebook. For three consecutive years, my photograph and testimonials appeared in a full-page feature within the dormitory section of this prestigious guidebook. This exposure not only gave me a platform to share my positive experiences but also provided Wakeijuku valuable visibility, accessible to incoming students both in Japan and around the world from 2019 to 2022.
