This role has enabled me to take on more responsibility within the Performing Arts and Music Departments, creating excellent cross-departmental relationships across the Trust to provide excellent technical support for events and for media projects. In this role, I undertake more strategic responsibilities for the organisation and management of the school’s events, such as raising sponsorship for the annual production, and marketing for the Performing Arts department – creating content to promote events, and delivering this through the school's marketing channels. I am often involved in organising and supporting large and small-scale live, virtual and hybrid events, including working with external individuals and agencies that may be presenting to students and/or staff. As well as filming and editing footage of whole school events, I devise and implement promotional video material connected to school publicity. I have taken on running, training and maintenance of KDFM, student support and mentoring for both the Kingdown Tech Team and as a Well-being Champion within the school. I am a first point of contact to provide broad media support, advice and training for staff and students where requested – help with iPad apps, PowerPoint presentations, Adobe Creative Suite software, videos within music etc., audio recording and editing for GCSE Music, filming of coursework and editing, as well as making of resources, e.g. sound effects for performances and examination purposes. I also undertake general administration and Music Tuition administration, including timetabling, attendance monitoring, reports, arranging annual observations, equipment loans for students, maintenance of instruments and other musical equipment, maintenance, training and assisting with the use of the Music Technology Suite. I also provide assistance in Performing Arts lessons (Music, Drama and BTEC Performing Arts), particularly Music Composition and lead and organise the school’s public speaking team. Show less

    • Assistant Head of Audio Visual
      • Sep 2012 - Apr 2017

This position involved raising orders for new equipment/consumables across all Performing Arts subjects, being responsible for loaning instruments to students and music room bookings for Peripatetic Teaching staff and student practice sessions, as well as supporting all departments across the whole school with lighting, audio, or video requirements. This role required liaising with other members of staff through various communication such as email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings, excellent troubleshooting skills of the audio and visual equipment, daily equipment checks of all AV equipment and spaces, and full compliance to meet tight deadlines, all whilst maintaining a keen eye for detail and ensuring health and safety practices at all times. I regularly used initiative to carry out tasks to keep me or relevant teams ahead of the workload or to identify and approach an issue that might need assistance preemptively. Show less
