Amanda DeMers has asked me to write a recommendation for her and I am happy to comply. Amanda took my environmental science, BI 242 course in the spring of 2009. She took the class to fulfill her science requirement. Amanda stood out to me for her passionate interest in the subject. Most students in the class take it to fulfill a liberal arts requirement and do not show much interest in the subject and are not thrilled about all of the work the class requires. Amanda showed great interest in the subject of environmental science. Her interest was evident in the first class and was strong until the last class. She often asked questions that were related to but went beyond the subject at hand. Each student researched and wrote a report about a local issue. Amanda chose to report on the options for dealing with traffic congestion on Route 22. She wrote a thorough report examining all the alternative solutions that have been proposed and presented her findings in an interesting powerpoint to the class. Since graduating, Amanda has contacted me periodically to let me know how she is doing. She recently sent me an article that would be a good discussion topic for the environmental science class. Amanda’s enthusiasm and interest in environmental science sets her apart from the typical student I have seen in my class. I would not hesitate to hire Amanda to work for me in an environmental field

Amanda has a talent for anything she puts her mind to. She is task minded and extremely organized. Amanda has the diligence to see a project through from beginning to the end and the tenacity to make tough decisions in the project's history. I fully recommend Amanda and invite you to get to know her, for she will be an asset to you and your company.
