As a Preschool Teacher at Bloom Early Learning I was responsible for creating lessons for a wide age and ability range of students and establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, while clearly communicating those objectives to children. For these lessons I adapted teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs, interests and abilities. These lessons covered teaching basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills, as well as establishing and enforcing rules for behavior in order to provide a solid foundation and prepare them for higher grade levels in their future education. I also worked with other staff and parents to identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, and discuss them with supervisors, parents or guardians. Meeting with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and needs, determine their priorities for their children, and suggest ways that they can promote learning and development was one of my most important daily responsibilities. While at Surdyk’s I oversaw the ordering and delivery department, which took in customer orders directly from our website as well as several ordering applications like Amazon, Drizly, Minibar and Bitesquad. As part of field experience in a graduate education class at Augsburg College I assisted an 8th grade earth science class at Roseville Area Middle School. During my time there I helped science department faculty in creating detailed lesson plans, and worked with English as a Second Language teachers to adapt the lesson plans for English Language Learning students. I have so far led two class sessions focusing on scientific critical literacy by reviewing scientific text, and writing and presenting conventions in the science content area.
