Empowering moms affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease. IBDMoms started with a hashtag. IBDMoms is a safe space for moms affected by IBD (Crohn’s Disease, ulcerative colitis or indeterminate colitis) as patients and/or caregivers to come and commune, chat and cry, ask and answer, laugh, and laugh some more. Founded by health advocates & friends, Brooke Abbott & Amber Tresca, the IBDMoms started from two friends being able to share experiences and stories with one another, and other moms affected by IBD, without reservations or misunderstandings. After receiving a great response from their first IBDMoms hosted Twitter chat, they decided to build on the idea to help strengthen the community of moms who are often forgotten within the IBD space.
