I had the opportunity to intern under the Marketing Director of United Way, Sam Lowe. Under her guidance I learned about nonprofit marketing and fundrasing. I was given the log-in information for the United Way Tik Tok account and made the two most popular videos on the page. I am extremely greatful for my time here. It was so incredible to work at a fully woman run organization where I was able to form meaningful connections with my mentors. Hasbrouck House is the place where I found my love and passion for hospitality. I relaized I wanted to persue a career in hotel marketing after closely observing the Hasbrouck Marketing Director. I worked with an amazing team, and formed deep connections with my coworkers. I gained insight about the importance of apperance, how to smile through challenging times, and how to see things through a guests/clients eyes. I unfortantly had to leave this company for an internship opportunity I needed in order to complete my B.A. degree, but I will always hold the lessons I learned here near and dear to my heart. Bagels and Bites was my second job in college. I worked here for a little over a year. It was an extremely fast-paced work enviornment where I had to learn how to keep up with the demands of customers. It was my first experience with such an early shift (we had to be at the store at 5:00am). It was very difficult to manage these hours while being a full time college student, which is ultimatley why I decided to leave the company. This job taught me how to manage my stress levels, sharpen my customer service skills, and how to delegate my time. Show less
