Sunday Mornings Serve as a liaison between staff and Worship Team. Recruit and train greeters, ushers, and others interested in connecting with guests in worship. Works in collaboration with artist-in-residence to design creative vision for engagement in liturgical seasons and the church calendar. Employing a strategy of radical welcoming in the front office of First Baptist Church of Decatur, I am blessed everyday to be here! The job is a mixture of administration, database management, volunteer coordination, outreach ministry, facility scheduling and evangelism. A great combination that provides many opportunities for multi-tasking, working for four different Ministers, assisting with programs and generally fielding many questions for a congregation in the thousands. As a Political Science major I understood and participated in many campaigns and organizations, but felt more engaged and inspired by the work, staff and method of 9 to 5 Working Women Atlanta chapter thank any other organizations. I have been fortunate to plug into all levels of Minimum Wage Committee work from the national level, lobbying Rep. David Scott, to the state level with Poor People's Campaign and grassroots outreach to other tipped workers. 9 to 5's agenda and mission is not only extremely important, and the "Fair Eats" campaign is as well because the food service industry is one of the largest sectors today. I am an example of a person empowered by this mission and this inspiration and politization will happen to many more. Show less

Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition (GPJC) is a network of local peace organizations in Georgia. This organization evolved in the build-up to the war in Iraq in 2003. Concerned citizens came together to attempt to prevent this unjustified and illegal war. We remain a strong coalition. I am a member of the Atlanta GPJC and serve on the steering committee representing Atlanta WAND. Increased outreach by through monthly radio interviews on WRFG Radio Free Georgia and creating a networking website to spread the mission, successfully attracting over 200 interested contacts in the Atlanta area.
