Bio
Carl Dreyer
In my experience, IT Directors are either technology driven or allow their creativity be constrained by fiscal budgets. Juan is the type of director who stays on the cutting edge of technology and develops work-arounds that allows organizations with tight budgets, like a Museum, to enjoy the latest technological developments without blowing a budget. In addition to managing his base responsibilities at MCNY, Juan was instrumental in getting the South Street Seaport Museum back online, nursing a fried server located in a terrible location for any technology assets, and linking three separate locations for operations while having very little in the way for funding. If I had the opportunity to work with Juan again, i would jump at the opportunity.
Nancy Bosler
I had the privilege of working with Juan for 4 years at the Museum of the City of New York. He keeps the same positive outlook whether or not he is installing an interactive museum exhibition that takes days or fixing someone’s printer which may take minutes. He is patient and kind with those of us that are not as IT savvy and he is and is great at empowering his co-workers with his knowledge.
