      Mr. Herlihy has been a full time faculty member with the College of Southern Maryland since January 2018. During his time here he has instructed a Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Introduction to Business and Economics courses.       Mr. Herlihy assisted in the creation and completion of Budget Planning Sheets for one customer. These planning sheets will be used as a baseline to measure the performance of the various aspects of the program to assure that the aspects of the program were on budget. Mr. Herlihy also assisted in Earned Value Management (EVM) updates. These updates allowed the customer to view how each of their projects are performing against their benchmark.       Throughout the duration of Mr. Herlihy’s summer-long internship with the St. Mary’s County Board of Economic Development he began the process of creating a database of all small businesses within county limits. This database was within an Excel spreadsheet which used picot tables to easily filter data. He used previous databases to compile all information on all small businesses (less than 100 employees) within county. He compiled as much of the data as possible within a ten week time frame. He would cold call local restaurants and set up meeting with managers and owners to request if they would like to partner with St. Mary’s County Tourism Department on the department’s website.

      Throughout the duration of Mr. Herlihy’s summer-long internship with NTA he prepared and reviewed PowerPoint presentations for the contracting team. These presentations were used to give updates to various other team members during daily and weekly status update meetings. The reviews would be to verify data currently in the presentations. He participated in daily and weekly status update meetings. He took notes during these meetings to relay to team members after meetings had concluded.
