Susan is a great team contributor. She's stepped outside her comfort zone many times (and thrived) within Guided Pathways work at Clark College. She has delivered meaningful and impactful content across a variety of platforms, which includes coordination across departments, scripting, pre-interviews, video captures/live interviews, and together, we've completed multiple video projects and worked to sync a new software that will clarify the term-by-term sequencing of classes for potential students for each of our 102 degree and certificates across six areas of study.

I have had the opportunity to work with Susan in her role as the Education Reporter for The Columbian and have found her to be fair in her coverage and thorough when gathering information. Susan is an excellent writer and very easy to work with. In my role in the school district, I also worked with Susan while she was at the National Trust. I have always enjoyed working with her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great writer and overall communicator.

On that horrific morning of September 11, 2001, I was working at American Red Cross. It was my job to connect with the news media and the community. Boy, did we connect! The Vancouver and Clark County community was so generous in the aftermath. Beyond the boots-on-the-ground communications work in the aftermath of 9-11, there were plenty of other communications projects to bring the work of Red Cross into focus. I designed and implemented communication strategies targeted to internal and external audiences, served as public information coordinator/spokesperson for chapter at emergency response situations (mostly house fires)including in the aftermath of the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks, pitched story ideas to broadcast and print media, interviewed frequently by TV and radio media, edited newsletter, wrote press releases, wrote Web site copy, took photographs at events including blood drives, interviewed volunteers.
