The Regional Services Manager (RSM) is the regional representative for the Association. I am responsible for the retention and growth of Membership in the Central West Region, from Yass to Canowindra, via Temora, Peak Hill to Hillston. I work with local Members to resolve local issues and act as the information conduit between Head Office and the general membership. I provide assistance to elected members to deliver outcomes on local issues, and drive local activities and events. AgriFood Skills Australia is one of 11 independent, not-for-profit Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) established by the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE). An important role of AgriFood Skills Australia is to foster best practice workforce development throughout all sectors and businesses of the agrifood industry. I am proud to be a part of the team within AgriFood that promotes and administers the opportunities for agrifood industry sectors, networks and businesses to raise the skill base of their existing and new workers. I have also had the great please in project Managing the very exciting, award-winning AgriFood National Regional Initiatives. This project empowers industry, community and local government leaders to work together in finding solutions to enhance skills and workforce development attraction and retention in regional Australia. The Initiatives are located in four “regions” across Australia – Western Downs QLD, Loddon Mallee VIC, Eyre Peninsula SA and Warren Blackwood WA. The Initiatives have delivered over 100 projects, mostly targeted workshops and training including giving people the skills to work across industry sectors to improve their business skills to enable more productive and profitable farming.
