I have been managing two different products (Hunting and Vulnerability Prioritization) each with its own engineering teams, analysts, UX designers, and stakeholders. Soon after I started off as a backend engineer, I helped form a new hunting team, writing the initial hunting engine. Eventually I was joined by additional team members and we took the engine to production and wrote over 25 hunting techniques. I worked on building relationships with the detection & response and SOC teams, understanding their requirements and helping the larger team work towards solutions. In addition to maintaining all responsibilities prior to the acquisition, I created technical designs and assisted in the porting of the python-based system to Java. Eventually, I became the technical lead where I implemented agile methodologies, coordinated tasks between multiple groups, and acted as an architect of many of the core systems. I maintained this leadership position as we rearchitected the system as a fleet of microservices running on top of Kubernetes and Docker. I worked on a fingerprinting system for the DOD (Department of Defense), primarily working on a graph-based state machine that created, monitored and managed distributed tasks. I also contributed to other consulting projects, including a healthcare patient management system. I also redesigned the company website from scratch.
