  The Arctic Paleoclimatology Project investigates climate and oceanography in the Arctic Ocean and surrounding seas during the past 500,000 years using proxies derived from marine sediments, particularly microfossils. The development of sea ice and warm periods considered analogs for future anthropogenic climate change scenarios were a particular focus. As a research technician, I worked collaboratively with the project team and scientists at other institutions on all stages of research and publication. • Designed and executed research plans • Prepared and examined sediment microfossil samples • Performed basic statistical analyses on large datasets with Excel; additionally responsible for data entry, organizing and maintaining project data files • Authored and contributed to peer-reviewed scientific papers • Trained and supervised student employees in lab procedures and microscope work Show less
