Bio
Scarlen Martínez , M. Ed.
Through our career coaching sessions, Joyce provided clear guidance on varied issues, from targeted career strategy and recruitment preparation to navigating organizational dynamics and promotion readiness. She also engaged with me holistically, incorporating my role as a parent and an ambitious professional. Joyce provides invaluable support to anyone dedicated to upskilling, career transitioning, and achieving work-life integration. Her services are a one-stop-shop for all the needs of a modern career woman and mother.
Liza Tarr
As the Tuck Association of Diverse Alumni (TADA)'s staff liaison at Tuck, I had the pleasure of working with Joyce on a consistent weekly basis throughout her time as co-chair. Joyce is thoughtful, measured, and deeply intuitive. In her first weeks at the helm, Joyce dedicated much of her time to first personally getting to know major stakeholders and embarked on a labor intensive research project to conduct individual interviews with alumni and TADA constituents across all of Tuck's segments. She and her co-chair Lisha Davis T'10 compiled and used these insights to inform their strategy for TADA's future and vision, all while maintaining steady communication with the school and me; throughout the process I was inspired by her thoughtful approach and organization and deeply appreciated her commitment to partnering with the school to achieve shared goals. Joyce advocated for greater transparency with the institution, more alumni tailored D&I programming, and stronger representation within the school administration and decision making process, a monumental undertaking for any volunteer entity. Thanks to her leadership, vision, and strategic partnership, in under one year TADA successfully refreshed its mission, rolled out its new goals and vision, developed clear and branded communications, built its membership base, and amplified its voice across Tuck's broader community. Because of Joyce and Lisha, TADA now has an overdue seat at the administration table and is equipped to rightly honor, support and celebrate the ongoing needs of diverse alumni and students at Tuck and beyond.
