• Melanoma Research Project

  I worked with a team on melanoma cell lines doing cell culture, DNA and RNA extraction, purification and sequencing to examine various mutations. I used other techniques such as flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry to examine cell surface markers. This was done to confirm previous research carried out by ECU, and examined how mutations affected resistivity or sensitivity to certain drug therapies.

  I represented ECU in China gaining valuable experience in communicating with the students at Tianjin Medical University. I presented an insight into life at ECU and Australia to the students and spoke on behalf of ECU to thank the President of Tianjin Medical University for accommodating us.
