May 2022 - Present
My job is to support the Special Education teachers in the school district in order for them to better focus on 600+ students within the School District currently on IEPs. I currently manage the IEP scheduling process for 12 Special Education teachers across the School District. It feels like a work-from-home remote work job because the main form of communication for my role is via phone and email vs. in person, I am in a separate building from my direct supervisor, and I create my own schedule according to the needs of Special Education staff I have been assigned to. In my role I: schedule IEP meetings and prepare documents for said meetings, manage files for teachers, travel to different school sites, enter complex IEP data into the school database, assist in preparing for and attending monthly Special Education staff training meetings, and take part in survey data collection. I am frequently in contact with Special Education teachers, SLPs (Speech Language Pathologists), District site staff, school secretaries, parents of students, and numerous others. I am able to work efficiently despite being in a separate building from my direct boss and the teachers I support due to my strong communication and organizational skills, and effective time management.

I was put in charge of delivering one-on-one and group extra instruction in order to cement new learning skills the kindergarteners gained. In order to excel in my role, I created different games and tried numerous teaching techniques to help each student with their individual learning method. By means of charts and spreadsheets, I kept track of how well 30+ students were progressing and what things I needed to give them more support in. It was especially difficult to give extra practice during the COVID-19 pandemic but I made use of Zoom's whiteboard, slide presentations I created, and different engaging resources I found. The teacher I worked for frequently told me that she saw me as a fellow teacher.

With only less than a month of training, I went on to be in charge of Blueprint management for the Design and Engineering Department including high-volume printing, scanning, copying, delivering to all behind-the-scenes locations within the Disneyland/California Adventure Resorts, auditing, uploading and entering thousands of files into a database. I came to be put in charge of onboarding 2 new temp employees. I trained them by means of PowerPoint presentations I created, step-by-step printouts, and working alongside them to teach them complex tasks until they could fully work on their own.

I was the main person at the Elementary School site for Spanish translating and interpreting. I had bi-annual all-day training in order to excel and be professional when interpreting IEP meetings, translating documents, and communicating well with parents and the rest of the staff. Parents and staff knew whom to go to if they needed help communicating with each other or were seeking Spanish support. Optician

Mar 2012 - Nov 2014
Went from zero knowledge as a voluntary optician, to a top salesperson in an ophthalmologist's office. I learned how to make glasses in-house, bill insurance, and learned how to use complex pre-examination machines. When transitioning to another employer, I was offered a $5000 bonus if I stayed.
