Andrew is an outstanding tennis coach for kids of all levels. I have been playing with him for a few years now and as my game gets better, so does his teaching. He pushes me to new levels with every lesson and is available for lessons as often as I want to play. I genuinely enjoy being out on the court with him because he is fun, upbeat and supportive as a coach and a friend. I would highly recommend him to tennis players at any level. Andrew is coach who will go above and beyond for his students and make them fall in love with the game.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION Team is defined as "a group of people who work together."Working as a team is highly encouraged in our class. On the team level, grades K - 1 tend to focus more on discipline as grades 2 - 4 focus more on training (how to treat others, working with everyone, using words such as "we" or "us" instead of "I" or "me" when talking about the class). All activities are aligned with the New Jersey Common Core State Standards. Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) At the end of each class (last 5 minutes), students are taught manners. Boys learn that another name for a girl is a lady. Boys act like gentleman when they allow a lady to line up before a gentleman as well as open the door for a lady. These strong foundations in manners will help the boys later in life when they begin to date because they will know how to treat a lady. Ladies will signal a red flag when they begin to date if a man chooses to act anything besides gentleman. HEALTH During health, students learn life skills that align with the New Jersey Common Core State Standards. Some units tend to gravitate towards "hot" topics in our world today while other units gravitate towards the culture of the community. Show less

      • Knowledgeable of Steven Covey's 7 Habits For Kids and able to teach these foundational habits consistently enough to transition students from thinkers to doers• In 2012, I began the first successful bicycle unit at The Kingdom Charter School of Leadership. During physical education class (3rd and 4th grade), students were able to ride a bicycle (with a state standard helmet) on a 2.67 mile trail. The Gloucester County Police Department were able to have an officer man the crosswalks to keep children safe when crossing the street along with helpers from the school. • Recess Coordinator (2012 - 2013): With the team I was given, we were able to ensure that each student was actively participating in 1 of 4 options during recess (organized recess). Options for recess changed each marking period. Leaders of the week (2 per grade) were able to synergize with the recess team (teachers) to ensure game rules were followed, students were playing correctly, and there was no mischief enabling the recess team to more closely monitor the group as a whole. Any incident that took place was able to be quickly identified (who, what) and taken care of immediately. • Traffic Control (2012 - 2014) during morning drop-offs, assemblies, and afternoon pick-ups• Teacher Aide (2012-2013): Team taught with classroom teachers (Mariah Sumner (Schick), Brian Shields) as well as prepared classroom for instruction. • Specials Aide: Prep classroom for Spanish (sharpen pencils, clean specials room, prepare books for students, connect with teacher via webcast (MyLanguage 360), keep students on task, encourage / discipline students during learning, make copies for teacher) Art (encourage / discipline students, keep students actively engaged on projects) Show less
