  Running the girls room at Wigan Youth Zone to create an inclusive and safe space for the young people of Wigan aged 11-25. This role included creating and organising activities to raise awareness of local and global issues. For example, International Women’s Day was celebrated here, giving the young girls of Wigan an opportunity to understand and discuss the issues they experience as a young female. I ran sexual consent workshops and sexual health awareness classes. I ensured that safeguarding was my utmost priority and that the young people of Wigan felt safe in this environment through trauma informed space and being a consistent and friendly face for them.
