I implemented strategic initiatives to promote the internationalization of Case Western Reserve University in the Center for International Affairs and lead the Center's Communication and Programming Teams. I managed all marketing and communication efforts for the Center, including designing and writing newsletters for on-campus and off-campus audiences, as well as creating content and strategies for multiple social media pages, the Center's website, and print marketing materials. My marketing and communication initiatives included: - Sharing important information and resources with the university's international students, making them feel welcome and helping them successfully adjust to campus life - Highlighting opportunities for students to enhance their academic experience and advance their career goals by studying abroad - Explaining the various benefits of globalization for our campus community and beyond - Showcasing the university's achievements with international partners I oversaw the planning and execution of all of the Center for International Affairs' events and programs, ranging from those targeting a specific group of students to large gatherings attracting hundreds of guests. I worked with an awesome team focused on ensuring these efforts meet the needs of our campus community and foster a welcoming environment at CWRU. Show less

Every day, I created a story from start to finish for my 24-hour cable TV station and the station's website. I found stories by reviewing and evaluating press releases and establishing relationships with Public Relations representatives and other contacts in the community. I conducted my own interviews, shot my own video, wrote my own scripts and then reported my stories on TV and created accompanying content for the station's website and my social media pages. My time as a reporter was incredibly valuable to me professionally and personally. It helped me become an independent self-starter as well as someone who appreciates being part of a team to support and learn from others. One of my favorite aspects of being a reporter was the opportunity to meet so many people from diverse backgrounds who allowed me to share their experiences with the community. I started as a one-person bureau reporter in Potsdam for News 10 Now in Syracuse, then moved to the station's two-person bureau in Corning. I was later hired by its sister-station, YNN Buffalo, and I spent my last seven years as a reporter and fill-in anchor in the Buffalo newsroom (which became Time Warner Cable News and then Spectrum News).
