Niamh and I worked together for two years in 20111 and 2012 in what we're very challenging times in financial services and retail banking. Niamh during this time gave me exceptional support, was very hard working and operated entirely on her own iniatiative. With Niamh's work with the team we managed to navigate the bank through some very difficult times, this required tenacity and resilience on Niamh's part and she should be very proud of her achievements in this regard.

Niamh worked as the Business Manager to the COO which involved acting as the COO in his absence as well as building and helping to execute the COO strategic plan. The COO direct team consisted of 7 and the total team c800 in 4 cities (and 3 countries). Niamh played a pivotal role in keeping the overall business on track as well as ensuring the COO kept sane. Not only arranging his extensive and varied travel (he lived in London, worked in both Dublin and Belfast, often on the same day), also his logistics. Niamh needed superme organisational skills to make that happen. A fast paced environment coupled with an aggressive cost reduction plan meant many conflicting priorities which Niamh managed extremely well. Niamh kept the team organised and ensured that the key priorities were driven and tracked. Niamh also took ownership for rewriting all of the COO reporting and Board updates to make them more focused and succinct, no small task given the size of the COO operation and activities under management. One of many examples where Niamh identified an opportunity for improvement in one of the core activities and got on with it, making a hugely positive contribution. Niamh was the linchpin of the senior team without whom much of the COO's success would not have happened.

Hands-on EA role, providing dual support to the managing director and finance director, applying strong skills in senior-level executive communication. This was a complex and varied role, requiring advanced prioritisation skills and a calm approach under pressure. Key functions included meeting preparation/strategic planning, client engagement, managing travel itineraries, complex diaries and cross-functional engagement.
