Laura is a special talent, skilled in business, with a great sense of humor, fun person to work and be with. Some of her great qualities are her entrepeneural spirit, care for the success of and total dedication to her clients, and thirst for knowledge. She is a great consultant and coach. John Keyser

Laura is an excellent career/transition coach. Her deep knowledge of the financial services industry and her insights into corporate culture prove extremely valuable when considering alternative opportunities. More importanly, she is great at helping people to identify their unique strengths and passions when making critical decisions. I would gladly recommend her as a thought partner.

Sale of Wirecard Assets: In January 2021, I helped to sell Wirecard’s core technical assets and 500+ employees to PagoNext (part of Santander Group). Post-Crisis: In June 2020, the KPMG special audit (called for by the Supervisory Board to investigate accounting irregularities) uncovered a $2B hole in the balance sheet. This led to the arrest of several senior executives who had been involved in inflating the revenues of the company to manipulate share price. Soon thereafter, Wirecard Group declared insolvency and began the process of finding a buyer for the core business. At this point, I was asked by the new CEO to serve on several solvent entity Boards in order to determine their strategic way forward (ongoing concern, entity share sale, asset sale, solvent wind-down, or insolvency). Pre-Crisis: Recruited to Wirecard by the Board to transform the organisation from an entity-led to a vertical-focused org. During my first 9 months, I achieved the following: * Created the Global Fintech vertical with an existing portfolio of fast-growing clients, such as Revolut, Funding Circle, Curve, Stocard, SisalPay, RatePay and Pay Maya * Integrated global team of 120+ sales and account management employees and began to harmonise purpose, values, goals, incentives, and processes * Developed a strategy to create a platform-powered ecosystem to help FinTechs thrive by leveraging Wirecard's end-to-end issuing, acquiring, lending and licensing capabilities * Gained Board approval to launch a Fintech Accelerator programme and VC fund to drive innovation and support FinTech clients through their product launch and customer growth cycles * Presented evaluation and recommendations to the Supervisory Board on company-wide governance Show less
