Project Manager: NSF Graduate K–12 Teaching Fellowship
-
Aug 2008 - Aug 2009
The EECB GK–12 fellowship program established learning partnerships between graduate students and K–12 educators in formal and informal education settings. My duties included managing the NSF grant (including annual reports and evaluation, in concert with external evaluators), training fellows, recruiting teacher partners, and developing an archival website of activities developed during the 10 years of our NSF-funded GK-12 program. Fellow training consisted of familiarization with national and state content and performance standards, learning and practicing methods of inquiry-based teaching, developing safe and informative field activities, and bringing research technology into the classroom. Fellows worked with teacher partners to incorporate research into school curricula, helping teachers to meet Hawai‘i State Science Standards through hands-on and inquiry-based activities. www.hawaii.edu/gk-12/evolution Show less
