  • Juniper Restaurant and Bar

    • Owner | Co-Founder
      • Feb 2013 - Jan 2016

Juniper, a 100 seat Cascadian inspired bar and restaurant located in Vancouver's Chinatown neighbourhood, was born out of my desire to create a community-focused space, that would celebrate the local landscape, using the best in local food ingredients, distinctive small-batch spirits, craft beers and wines from Artisan makers of the Pacific Northwest. As co-founder I was responsible for co-creating Juniper's original concept and vision. I recruited the partners and raised capital for the venture and also led the recruitment of top talent, including architect, designer and contractor selection and coordination to interviewing and hiring key staff for the operation of the restaurant. With a diverse background in real estate, I held the key role of site selection and negotiations and worked closely with our professional trades and the municipal authorities. After successfully creating and building out the concept I was able to realize an attractive ROI and have since sold my stake in the business. Although Marketing, Selling and investing into Real Estate has been my focus for the last 20 years and will continue to be, I do have an authentic passion for our community and am always looking for investment opportunities with local entrepreneurs, makers and creatives. I'm always available for a cup of coffee or a walk around the seawall.
