At Shef, we’re rebuilding the food system from scratch, redefining who can participate in the food economy, and returning personal connection to the making, eating, and sharing of food. We are an online marketplace for local, food safety certified cooks to connect with customers in their community and earn a meaningful income selling homemade dishes. We are committed to reimagining home cooking regulations around the country to help put people back to work following the COVID-19 pandemic and have raised nearly $30M from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Y Combinator, Craft Ventures, and M13, as well as founders and executives from Instacart, TaskRabbit, StubHub, AngelList, Lyft, Airbnb, and Yelp. Elevate Foundation, Grant Evaluation
-
Jul 2021 - Mar 2022
Workrise is committed to the people who get the hard work done. Part of that mission is to lower the barriers to entry for workers and create pathways into sustainable careers. That’s why Workrise established the Elevate Foundation, which seeks community partnerships to reduce the unemployment and wage gap for Black Americans. The Elevate Foundation provides grant funding on a quarterly basis to non-profit organizations. As a Workrise initiative, the Elevate Foundation has contributed $25,000 to each of these organizations to date, creating economic opportunities through upskilling, training, and additional career advancement support. Together, we aim for two important and related objectives: establishing long-term community partnerships and reducing the unemployment and wage gap for Black Americans. Show less
