Alex has a great combination of smarts, curiosity, passion, and charm that have made him a key addition to the strategy team. During his time at AEO he has been instrumental at driving key projects in the e-commerce and omnichannel world right from the beginning of the company’s omnichannel journey. I am particularly impressed with his ability to hone in on key insights from large data sets, particularly from primary customer research. I saw it first hand during an engagement to improve AEO’s e-commerce fulfillment practices, in which Alex was able to present a handful of distilled insights and a short presentation that drove meaningful and decision based discussions at the executive level and led to a wave of positive changes across multiple departments to improve customer experience. During his time at AEO, Alex has also helped lead customer research in partnership with the CRM team on many complex omnichannel questions that have wide-ranging business implications like which products serve as entry points into the brands, which products do loyal customers migrate to for spend, and how customers and spend migrate across channels overtime that he has helped action across the company. He is a catalyst for positive change!

Alex was my go-to-person on any omnichannel and e-commerce topic at American Eagle. Through his projects he has gained a broad knowledge base and expertise in e-commerce. Be it to understand fulfillment, shipping, or returns processes, or to get a level deeper into the order management or DC operations systems, he not only knows how it all works, he also has great judgment on the strategic implications for any new initiative. He has a great analytical mind, and is able to pull out few key insights from large data sets. This, coupled with his contagious passion for the business, that serves him well when he needs to motivate large cross-functional teams, has made him a great partner when setting out to implement positive change in a variety of omnichannel initiatives that are critical for AEO.
