As Reach Out and Read Michigan’s Affiliate & Development Director, I created the strategy for & led the continued development of our expanding program in Michigan. I focused both on strengthening the internal operations and on sharing stories of impact and opportunity across Michigan’s communities. I supervised a team, oversaw program quality across sites, and raised the funds needed to sustain and grow the impact. Keys to my success included my knowledge of communities and my ability to open doors to opportunities for funding and partnership. Reach Out and Read’s national development team supported my efforts to access new sources of philanthropy and mobilize the community in support of children and families. As a results-oriented, experienced, and entrepreneurial professional, I was the face of Reach Out and Read Michigan across the state, with a targeted primary focus on ensuring that the model was implemented with impact on the families and children we served, and on fundraising for sustainability and program growth. I was part of a vibrant team of professionals serving communities across the state. I worked to dismantle the structural inequities that disproportionately impact children and families with traditionally marginalized identities. Show less

I continuously developed, implemented, and improved processes and systems that assured that programs across the region had the support they needed to operate high-quality programs with strong fidelity to the Reach Out and Read model. I managed the technical assistance and supportive services provided to Reach Out and Read programs across West Michigan, and supervised program staff with a targeted primary focus on ensuring that the Reach Out and Read intervention was implemented with impact on the families and children we served. I worked closely with the Medical Director to develop strategy, set goals, and evaluate progress and efficacy; and developed staffing models and recruited staff as needed over time. Client Experience Consultant
-
Aug 2016 - Apr 2020
In this role, I developed a broad understanding of Haworth’s capabilities and strategy, coupled with market dynamics, to leverage with guests while they considered their physical and digital spaces. I coached salespeople to understand clients’ objectives to deliver a world-class experience at Haworth’s global headquarters. This required me to conduct listening sessions with executive hosts and field sales members to effectively understand the customers’ goals. I served as host and inside sales for the duration of the client visit. As a CX team member, I toured guests from around the world through Haworth’s global headquarters and accurately articulated Haworth’s heritage, culture, values and research to give credibility to the term “living lab”. My role was to prepare members of the client engagement community for meaningful and relevant discussions by providing background information and moment-of recap of the content covered during the visit. Surveyed the client, dealer, influencer, sales person and client engagement community members to evaluate the client visit effectiveness; after survey, I analyzed and reported on all client visits and events at One Haworth Center. I planned and hosted quarterly events that provided communication about upcoming visits and changes at headquarters while building morale. Developed digital sales tools with workplace strategists using Bluescape technology to provide a visual markerboard of the clients’ experience at One Haworth Center. To support the role best, I researched dining, event and off-site excursion trends to continually evolve and enhance visits. On the team, I defined and documented all processes involved in supporting, planning, and hosting a visit to ensure that each experience maintained a service that is world-class. Show less

Account Executive & Channel Manager
-
Feb 2014 - Jan 2017
As an Account Executive & Channel Manager, I was responsible for actively and successfully marketing fiber optic services to strategic enterprise accounts in Michigan and the Great Lakes region. Activities included actively generating new prospects, qualifying leads, presenting proposals, negotiating terms and conditions, and executing contracts. I was responsible for maintaining a sales funnel and prospect list to accurately and effectively identify opportunities which were used to track progress of the sales cycle. I collaborated with team members to identify challenges and create solutions to suit the needs of customers and close sales. As a Channel Manager, I was responsible for managing the Agents we had brought on under the Agent Agreement, and pushing them to meet their sales goals. I collaborated with team members to launch quarterly and month promotions to incent the Agents to sell our product over that of a competitor. A large portion of my role was to build relationships with those Agents by understanding the needs of their clients and providing a competitive advantage for them to leverage. This was accomplished through training the Agents, helping them understand how to leverage our product over that of a competitor and going on sales calls with them. By doing these things, I was able to prove that I was a trusted advisor and partner. Show less
