I strategize with students and their families on how to approach the college admissions process. I customize an individualized plan for each client, set goals and milestones, and follow up to ensure students reach the destination that fits them best. Outside of impact-focused activity planning, I provide 24/7 support on applications, coach students on how to write distinct essays, and assist with teacher recommendation forms and counselor brag sheets. Additionally, I walk through school-affiliated systems such as Naviance, SCOIR, and Cialfo with students so that they are familiar with how to use them. And when the time comes, I will also help them request recommendations and transcripts through those systems. Drafting emails to admission reps, college interview preparation, and detailed advice and insight are all important factors included as well. Thus, constant communication with families, regular meetings with students, and detailed organization are all necessary. I also hold seminars and workshops for students where I cover topics such as Good College Essay Writing and The Common Application.

I deliver engaging, professional, and sometimes goofy online English classes to students all over the world. I prepare each lesson and the necessary supporting materials to ensure that my classes meet the desired learning outcomes. On top of that, I focus on a couple of things specifically—The information and ideas are conveyed effectively, the class is fun, and the learning environment is positive. I was the academic liaison for New Oasis and the private high schools in my region. I helped to settle the new international students into their respective high schools by assisting with course selection, study obstacles, cultural differences, tutoring, and college advising. My spouse's job forced our family to relocate from sunny Virginia Beach to New Jersey. As this was not a remote position, I needed to end my employment. • Jul 2018 - Jun 2019

In July 2018, I received a promotion to Lead Education Consultant. I oversaw the work of several teams located in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Shanghai. I conducted training exercises, performed employee assessments and reviews, ensured operation procedures were being followed, and cooperated with our marketing department on events. I also conducted sales meetings with clients, fitting our products with their needs, while keeping our existing clients satisfied. As Team Lead, we never failed to meet our quarterly quotas or annual financial goals. Each consultant was able to increase their student caseload by approximately 30% and during my final year, we had 4 Ivy League offers.

    • Senior Education Consultant
      • Jan 2017 - Jul 2018

My aim was to help my high school students realize their collegiate goals by maximizing their potential through activity advisory, test planning, pathfinding, essay editing, and application assistance. I personally ensured that my students found the best academic fit for their situation. We regularly saw our students admitted to Top 50 and Top 25 schools, including many who earned admission to IVY League institutions. We navigated the college admission process alongside our students, helping them with the Common Application, Coalition Application, and their Naviance accounts.

    • Senior Teacher - Assistant Manager
      • Aug 2014 - Jan 2017

I earned a promotion to Senior Teacher in August 2014. In this role, I helped to manage a team of educators and assisted our Director of Studies. Duties included schedule making, performance appraisals, onboarding, regular professional development training, and constructive feedback/action plans. On top of this, I still taught a full schedule, which is equal to 20 hours of in-classroom per week. There was also a sales component to this position as we matched our products and courses with the needs of our clients. In education, it's important to find the best fit for each student as the industry is not cookie cutter and each possesses unique strengths and poses different challenges. I held demonstration lessons and attended marketing conferences to promote our school. I personally had strong conversion rates for my demo classes, which ranked near the top in my region. During my time as a manager, our center grew, our students flourished, and we met our financial goals.

    • English Language Teacher
      • Aug 2012 - Aug 2014

As an ESL teacher at EF Kids and Teens, I was tasked with providing high quality, engaging lessons to students, ages 3 to 17. This job required lesson planning and adaptation, classroom management/discipline, grading homework/quizzes/exams, resourcefulness, along with holding parent conferences regarding student progress. Most of our regular courses were two hours in length, excluding those for small children, in which case they ran for one hour.

Assisted customers with their day to day transactions, including deposits, withdrawls, transfers, etc. Many of our customers were in and out a few times a week so keeping up a rapport with them was essential in making them feel valued and respected. Learning their names and the basics about what is going on in their life went a long way in making them feel welcome. This job also required extreme attention to detail as mistyping a few numbers could be disastrous when moving around the client's money. This job allowed me to develop my customer service skills, my interpersonal skills, and gave me my first professional work experience post-graduation. I left this job to pursue my passion for education and working with today's youth, something that I'm proud to say, still drives me today.

      • May 2011 - Aug 2011

I managed all of the drink stand employees in the park, which equaled roughly 10 to 15 employees. I made their schedules, coordinated their time off, and solved scheduling disputes and conflicts. This was seasonal employment as I was still at university at the time and most of my employees were high school students working summer jobs, so there were many requests and disputes. This job also required me to solve customer complaints and respond to formal park complaints. I was responsible for balancing each stand's register at the end of the night as well, ensuring the revenue and receipts matched up. I was also tasked with keeping each kiosk and stand fully stocked with ice, drinks, and small change. The park being somewhat large this proved to be a pretty tall order as I used a dolly to push drinks and ice all over the park to each of my locations. This was a very active, fun, and lively job and I received strong reviews from employees, customers, and supervisors.
