Karol has been a great addition to our team. She is always focused on doing the right thing for her client groups. Her attention to detail and pleasant demeanour has been a real pleasure to work with. Karol fights for that perfect balance between what’s right for the employee and what is right for the company. We will miss her high energy and thoroughness. I wish her the very best! Any company would be better off having Karol on their team!

At the start of my contract, I was responsible for day-to-day operations of the office, event coordination, and accounting activities (billing, collections, reconciliation). Within a month, I took on payroll and recruitment activities. Over the course of the year, I structured the recruitment procedure which brought down recruitment costs by over 50%, created payroll and billing processes and reports that improved financial compliance, conducted employee engagement research to capture the drivers of success, and developed the value statements for the company. As the sole recruiter within the company, I was responsible for crafting job descriptions, conducting screening interviews (from creating the questions to conducting them), coordinating the rest of the interviews, and lastly drafting and presenting the offer package. The roles that I filled were: 2 Business Development Representatives, 1 Mid-Market Customer Success Manager, 1 Senior Customer Success Manager, 1 Director of Product, 1 Director of Marketing, 1 Full-Stack Developer, 1 Quality Assurance Lead, and 1 Mid-market Account Executive. For the Office of the President, I acted as the first point of contact for all inquiries and visitors, and was additionally responsible for maintaining the office space, coordinating events and outreach initiatives, coordinating travel, budget reconciliation, and filing. During my time at Wilfrid Laurier University, I improved budget reconciliation processes, created a process document for travel coordination, and implemented 2 institution-wide events. I was the HR representative for all Toyota Tsusho Canada Inc , Green Metals Canada Inc, and (temporarily) Maple Automotive Corporation locations in Cambridge. As the HR representative, I was responsible for full cycle recruitment of both office and warehouse positions, training, benefits administration, claims management, return to work facilitation, and handling human resources inquiries. In the course of that year, I filled over 30 full-time positions, created several standard operating procedures, and implemented several improvements to the human resources processes including saving the company $5,000/year by finding an alternative learning management system. After my initial maternity leave contract ended, I was offered a contract extension to conduct health and safety assessments on two new sub-assembly lines at the Toyota Tsusho Woodstock location, as well create physical demand descriptions for their warehouse team. By conducting a risk analysis of the sub-assembly lines, I made recommendations that projected reductions of high-risk movements by 80% in one line, and 100% in the other line. During the last month of my employment, I supported the Cambridge Purchasing team while they were temporarily short-staffed. Within 2 days, I was fully ramped up on my responsibilities of handling collections and data entry, and exceeded their KPIs for order confirmations. Show less

I made workplaces safer by conducting weekly office ergonomic risk assessments with a registered Kinesiologist and her clients. As part of these assessments, I was responsible for identifying workplace hazards using task analysis techniques and proposed recommendations. On top of my health and safety responsibilities, I improved SEO and re-engineered the Ability at Work company website with improved page flows and call-to-action content, resulting in 150% increase in site traffic.
