      I would like to announce the promotion of Mike Hicks. Mike will be joining Buckhead Beef Illinois, as Director of Sales & Marketing. Mike will be working with the Operating Companies of the Midwest Region to help Sysco develop a dominant presence in the region as a center of the plate provider. Mike started his career with Sysco Albany as a Marketing Associate and later as a District Sales Manager. Mike moved to Sysco Columbia in 2005 and helped develop that company into a dominant protein provider in its market. Working closely with Buckhead Beef Atlanta he helped transition that company off the street and into the OPCO. Mike has been instrumental in developing a strong relationship with Certified Angus Beef in the Carolina's. Mike's team has been highly recognized by Certified Angus Beef, winning the 2010 Certified Angus Beef Marketer of the Year award, 2011 Value Added Marketer of the Year Award and was the 2012 Commitment to Integrity recipient along with holding top sales volume awards. Mike will be relocating to the Chicago area with his wife Linda and their two children. Mike's creative and innovative approach to the meat business and OPCO experience, will afford us a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
