Andy Konieczny is one of the hardest workers I have ever encountered. I've had the absolute pleasure of working alongside Andy at two separate companies: Midway Games and Day1 Studios. Personally, I have witnessed Andy's professional growth as he ascended from an entry-level position to Lead Animator - I do not know another person more deserving of that title. Andy is a true professional and a natural leader - he always leads by example with his extraordinary work ethic. Furthermore, Andy possesses a vast skill-set, in many aspects of the art & animation disciplines. I've worked closely with Andy on many different AI systems, which always rely on suitable animations. Not only is Andy a master of his craft, but he has always offered keen and creative design suggestions at every stage of the process. It is a breath of fresh air to have others outside of the design discipline understand the necessary concepts for game-play functionality. As well, Andy is an excellent communicator - in an industry where communication often falls short, it has always been a pleasure discussing problems and finding solutions with him over the years. During meetings, Andy does not hesitate to voice his opinions or concerns, but does so in the most constructive way possible - this not only helps drive a better overall design, but it also prevents problems down the road. It would be a pleasure to work with Andy K. in the future and I truly hope to have the opportunity again someday! A.K. is an asset to any company lucky enough to land his services...

Andy is a great team builder and lead - he always keeps his team members moral high, motivation strong, and schedules on track. That combined with his technical knowledge of animation systems, and passion to create great games, makes him able to tackle anything thrown his way. He was very pro-active in pushing his team members to grow, and taught us a great many things from getting our feet wet with motion-capture to re-designing more efficient animation state-machines. While at Day 1 he also worked with engineers, spear-heading the effort to completely overhaul the animation system and bring it up to par with competing tech – and as of this writing it’s still one of the best systems I’ve worked with. He’s a great guy, an invaluable addition to any team, and I hope to work with him again in the future!
