Bio
Steve Lanzit
Melissa was an extremely energetic and knowledgeable Communications Professor at the University of Connecticut. Her courses were very well planned as well as exciting. She made the material relatable and fun to learn. Melissa's ability to clearly articulate the lesson at hand and get the entire class involved were two of her biggest strengths. In addition to her expertise as a professor, Melissa was a compassionate advisor. She helped guide me through my undergrad at UConn and took a friend first approach to the role. Melissa genuinely cared about my success at UConn as well as my professional career once removed from the university.

I can think of no colleague who brought greater energy and dedication to her teaching than Melissa Tafoya. She was able to garner stellar evaluations despite adhering to rigorous workloads and grading schemes. Dr. T remains one of the best-liked professors in the history of our department...definitely a master-teacher!
