She would go out of her way to make sure the client understood what she was trying to convey, even breaking harder concepts down in laymen's terms.       My work with MedOptions began with scheduling patient followups and generating clinician schedules. Once transitioned to a new EHR system, the focus changed to maintaining the schedules in the EHR for the clinicians. Eventually, the scheduling module allowed the clinicians to maintain their own, and I transitioned into the Intake Department. The main function of this position was processing incoming referrals, locating and verifying insurance coverage, obtaining insurance authorizations & direct pay agreements, and scheduling initial & testing appointments. Finally, I became the lead Referral Coordinator. In this position, I received & tracked all faxed & emailed referrals for services, contacted senders for missing items or information for delayed referrals, researched and responded to inquiries regarding the status of referrals, services, and scheduled visits. I worked closely with our own clinical and administrative staff as well as the client facility staff to identify & resolve issues to avoid nnecessary delays in patient care. Show less
