Sr. Project Management
-
2003 - 2007
Started as a lead Carpenter until an assistant project manager role became available on a $15 million dollar project at the Wynn Resort in 2004. I mentored under some very experience mangers and learned the fine points of project management. I was involved with labor reporting and management, put estimates together for onsite charges, facilitated procurement of materials, reviewed shop drawings, prepared and monitored man loaded progress schedules and attended numerous progress meetings. In February of 2005, I was offered a project manager position at the Red Rock Hotel Tower for a drywall contract at over $10 million for Midwest Drywall. I operated as an onsite project manager, working very closely with Perini Building Company, the general contractor. Part way through this project Midwest Drywall was awarded the Red Rock Theatre interior contract, valued at approximately $3.5 million. I managed both projects to completion, taking total responsability for the day to day financial accountability. The on-site General Foremen reported to me, facilitating the work of some (150) onsite craftsmen, along with all project cost control managing, change request estimates and proposals, progress meeting attendance, prepared and monitored man loaded progress schedules, and total control of both projects' profitability. Both projects were completed profitably and the relationship with Perini resulted into another project. In March of 2006, Midwest Drywall was awarded the subcontract for interior drywall construction at the Queens Ridge Towers. This was a two 19 story condominium towers, with a contract value of over $18 million, for Perini Building Company. I was appointed Senior Project Manager for Midwest on this project and had total control of Midwest's on-site project management. Like the previous Projects, I was in total control of all on-site activities for the company and managed this work until March of 2007. Show less
