Earned a Masters of Science in Renewable Energy at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda while studying in country with a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. While in Uganda, created a comprehensive anti-malaria program along with working as volunteer with local NGO's to assist with microfinance and water harvesting programs. Projects included analysis of flow-accelerated corrosion in piping; seismic anchoring of piping; thermodynamic effects of a power up-rate in plant heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; and outreach efforts working towards developing greater collaboration between Duane Arnold Energy Center and Iowa State University.
