I found Hayley Downey to be an excellent communications sub-contractor. She worked with me on a special project and provided a high level of support, with a results-driven focus, good writing skills and attention to detail. She quickly developed good knowledge of the local media and her communication skills were easily transferred to the Australian workplace. She was reliable, professional and took responsibility for planning her workflow, implementation and follow-through. I would highly recommend Hayley for freelance public relations positions.

Subsequent to the growth of the Sovini Group and its Marketing department, I was promoted to manage the marketing of the One Vision Housing brand. This role involved developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications strategies in line with the organisation's varied business objectives.Utilising my digital marketing skills and experience I have championed the move towards becoming a 'digital first' organisation; auditing and optimising the website for increased conversions, creating results-driven email marketing campaigns, and creating digital dashboards to monitor, analyse and evidence the effectiveness of digital communications campaigns. I was initially employed to manage, write and improve the internal newsletter for PR Help’s client, A4e Australia, a national training and employment provider. My role however soon evolved and I was given the responsibility of reviewing and revising all of the internal and external communications of the organisation. After undertaking a detailed communications audit of the company, I designed, budgeted and implemented a number of new communications systems and policies, such as a staff suggestion scheme. As the sole PR officer, I managed the charity’s national press office, dealing with all media enquiries, while also proactively communicating the charity’s messages and values and promoting their events and fundraising initiatives throughout the UK. I was also responsible for collating and analysing the organisation’s press coverage, which would be presented to the charity’s board of directors and Trustees at the quarterly meetings. In order to raise the profile of the charity and increase it’s recognition as a medical research body, I achieved significant national media coverage by piggybacking on national heart health debates and providing statements on behalf of the charity figureheads, including the national director and surgeons from the panel of directors.
