  I want to start to my words with saying "better late than never." This important phrase reminds me that I always have a time to do something that I want to do and there is nothing that is impossible. As a Work and Travel student, I went to United States for 3.5 months at 2022 summer as all alone. My journey started with taking the J1 Visa for visiting USA and working at there. It was a childhood dream for me since I was a kid and I still can't believe that I live in United States for more than quarter of a year. Actually we were planning to go there with my precious friends but I was alone for all of the journey since the beginning due to the some hithces. I learned how to live in a different country and system, in dozens of foreign people that I don't know. I was able to experience what it means to work in a company while I was out of my comfort zone and sharing the same house with my other foreign colleagues. While trying to evaluate all aspects of the program well, I made unforgettable friendships and improved my english skills as well thanks to this programme that I experienced for the first time in my life. As a result of all these, I realized how valuable it is to be social, enterprising and extroverted, and have high energy towards life. Then, I could see that all of them have good reflections on my own life. At the end of this, with the money I earned by working for 3 months, I traveled to different places such as Washington D.C, Philadelphia, Maryland, New York, Miami, Chicago for 15 days and experienced what all had to be done. I made friends from different countries such as Slovakia, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates, Romania, Montenegro, Colombia, Mexico, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Bulgaria, France, Iran and of course America, and I believe I have developed myself visionally and missionally and taken a huge step to the life as "new" Arda.   At the end of the completing my first year of education at Yeditepe University Faculty of Pharmacy, where I am a student representative, I experienced the professional career life with Dr.Pharmacist Metin Uyar for 30 days during the summer period as a voluntary intern. The operation of pharmacy, management of pharmacy, management of pharmacy economy, having a healthy relationship with employees, having a powerful team at pharmacy with empathizing with team, communication with some pharmaceutical company sales representatives, patient-pharmacist relationship that includes helping in english to our local foreign visitors and/or drug information, being consultant about drugs, information about all kinds of supplements and cosmetic products, as well as social media management, brand creation are the valuable experiences that I have gained with Metin Uyar. I have been learnt with valuable experiences such as being brand ambassador for cosmetic companies, communication and co-operation with companies, launching product after creating a needed idea for health of people, having interview with valuable doctors who work in USA for alzheimer, business persons who work in valuable companies and having strong positions, entrepreneurs who were so brave in order to success accomplished works and also analyzing the results of R&D studies. On the other hand, I could see that how is it going with the being a columnist in a local newspaper and being an academician at some universities in Turkey. In addition, I gained an internship experience that took my worldview and vision to higher levels, together with the successful people I met due to my location and the jobs we undertake. Show less
