Barks of Love is an all-volunteer run, all-breed dog rescue based in Orange County and Inland Empire, CA that focuses on matching rescue dogs with foster and adoptive homes. Purpose/Timeline: The work on the website lasted six months from January 17, 2022 to June 11, 2022. The project’s main objectives were to assist with website improvements and create training documentation for website administration and maintenance. The scope of the project evolved to include SEO improvements and optimization of fundraising. Implementation Method: The project was run with an Agile Scrum framework. The team adhered to Agile Development practices. We produced Agile artifacts and participated in Agile ceremonies, such as a weekly Sprint Review and Product Backlog Refinement. We worked in weekly sprints with tasks planned and delegated in a product backlog. Project deliverables were presented to the client weekly. Expected Outcome: At the project’s conclusion, our team expects to have provided the client with enough training documentation for the client’s volunteers to be able to successfully run and update their website. We will also have made a number of improvements to the client’s website by overhauling their current SEO, optimizing their fundraising strategies, and improving the layout of their webpages. We hope that the work we have done for our client leads to tangible benefits through increased donations, adoptions, and an overall lower bounce rate for the client’s website.
