I'm lucky to have worked with Jen Bowen Flynn, a leader who was deeply invested in both SVP Boston as an organization and in my own professional and personal development. I had the pleasure of working with and reporting to Jen for more than two years at SVP. As SVP’s Associate Director, Jen led the organization’s grant making, oversaw SVP’s capacity building and volunteer engagement projects, and was a driving force behind the organization’s expansion and strategic development. Drawing from her extensive social sector experience, Jen was constantly looking for opportunities to refine and enhance the organization’s processes and operations. She helped transform SVP’s grant making and due diligence, implementing new elements and tools to improve each grant cycle. As my manager, Jen encouraged me to take on new tasks and responsibilities while remaining fully supportive of, and responsive to, my needs and questions. I especially admired Jen’s ability to develop authentic, lasting connections with key internal and external stakeholders, creating true partnerships with SVP’s nonprofit grantee leaders and philanthropic members. I learned so much from Jen, and her empathetic leadership style would be a great asset to any organization. More than anything, Jen is an incredibly thoughtful and genuine person and I’m so glad our paths crossed in 2016!

I had the pleasure to work with Jen at the Clinton Foundation. Jen was instrumental in the implementation of both our recruitment and payroll software. She displays a very methodical and knowledgeable approach to her work. She has a strong professional demeanor and was extremely helpful and thorough throughout the process. Jen develops a strong rapport with her users. Her strong problem solving skills were critical to the success of our efforts. I don't think I could have done the implementation without her!
