      As a Senior Systems Engineer, I work on mission critical public-safety telecommunications systems. In particular, I upgrade and maintain the software and hardware solutions in our customers' high-availability call processing and data centers. The primary technologies I work with on a daily basis are HPE DL380 servers running VMware ESXi, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Domain Controllers (Active Directory, GPO, etc), Juniper and Fortinet firewalls, as well as various routing equipment. My responsibilities would range from auditing a customer system's configuration and customizations, identifying and planning the appropriate upgrade procedure, communicate outages and impacts to my customer, and ultimately leading a small team of engineers and technicians to implement the upgrade.
