    • Library Assistant
      • Jan 2023 - Present

I recently began a new position at Hallam Secondary College, after making the decision to continue to pursue my passion for school library work. As Library Assistant, my role involves supporting the Library Manager, staff and students, ensuring that the entire school community is able to access library resources. At present, I am working to ensure catalogue records are consistent and that all resources are in their appropriate sections. For the latter, this currently involves the creation of sections/collections in the Oliver system and adding all resources to these new sections so that they may be more easily located. While completing this process, I am removing books from the shelves to confirm that they are in the correct location and adding a coloured sticker to the base of the spine to identify if the book belongs to the General Fiction, Young Adult, or Mature Readers collections. I am responsible for ensuring that data from assessments such as NAPLAN and Common Assessment Tasks (CATs) are uploaded and matched to the correct students. Show less

    • Consultative Committee Union Representative
      • Mar 2022 - Jan 2023

I joined the Consultative Committee as a representative of the College’s sub-branch of the Australian Education Union. I am hoping to learn more about the College through this position and to continue to support the College as best I can.

    • School Council member - Staff Representative
      • Mar 2022 - Jan 2023

In March 2022, I joined Cranbourne Secondary College’s School Council. I have done this in order to continue to serve the College and enhance my knowledge of how the College operates and the role of School Council.

    • Australian Education Union Cranbourne Secondary College Sub-Branch Secretary
      • Mar 2022 - Jan 2023

In March of 2022 I decided to put my hand up to join the Executive in order to support our union sub-branch and to continue to learn more about union matters and the College. Following an Executive meeting, I volunteered to act as the sub-branch Secretary. As part of my role, I have organised a meeting for ES staff with our local ES representative from AEU in order to discuss issues affecting them, to discuss the new Local Agreement, and encourage College ES staff to join the union. I am also responsible for writing the agenda and minutes of sub-branch and Executive meetings, and have developed a sub-branch newsletter and welcome letter for new staff that is to be included in welcome packs. • CCTV Manager
      • Nov 2021 - Jan 2023

My role as CCTV Manager began recently to fill part of the role left by an exiting staff member. My primary responsibility in this role is to locate requested footage and images of particular incidents as requested by Principal Class Officers and Year Level Engagement Coordinators and upload them to a secure network drive.

    • Reports Coordinator
      • Jan 2021 - Jan 2023

My role as Reports Coordinator began after the role was merged with my existing Compass Manager role. My primary responsibility is the administration and coordination of Progress and Semester Report cycles. This involves setting up the cycles using Compass reporting modules, coordinating with Assistant Principals Mila Milenkovich and Joanne Cucchiara as well as Assessment and Data Learning Specialist Jake Leopold and various Sub School Leaders to ensure that report processes are as accurate and effective as possible, and coordinating with staff to ensure that reports are completed efficiently and to a high standard prior to publication. Semester Report cycles also require an extensive time commitment performing quality control, reviewing completed reports and communicating any issues with staff so that they can be rectified quickly. In 2022, I also became responsible for communicating Reporting procedures with students and parents, as well as prompting and supporting teaching staff to share Report presentations with their students.A key change that I have introduced is the Reporting and Assessment Handbook, which was created collaboratively with Assistant Principal Mila Milenkovich. Given her expertise in the subject, previously having been Reporting and Assessment Leader, Mila created the bulk of the Handbook, while I proofread, added Frequently Asked Questions for staff to refer to, and updated both the design and information that Mila was unaware of due to new processes. Another key change I’ve initiated is the addition of Progress Reports to a separate Semester Report cycle. These separate reports allow staff, parents, and students to view Progress Reports on the Compass app, enabling them to greater analyse Progress Reports during meetings and Parent/Teacher interviews. We are also planning to add an Insight cycle to help students reflect on their latest report and develop learning goals throughout the year. Show less

    • Compass Manager
      • May 2020 - Jan 2023

My role as Compass Manager began as I took over the role from the previous Compass Manager, who had taken on new responsibilities. My primary responsibility as Compass Manager is to ensure that Compass continues to function as efficiently as possible. To this end, I am constantly analysing Compass features and modules to identify ways that it could be used within the College and ways that it could be improved and passing those suggestions on to Compass as necessary.Key changes that I've made include the adoption of the Resource Bookings module, primarily for library resources, replacing old, less efficient methods of booking library resources, facilitated the creation of new Compass ID cards to easily identify external VET students, and engaging staff with the usage of the Issue Tracker and Custom Groups modules.I am currently working to enable the use of the Canteen module, pending approvals from Principal Class Officers and our Canteen contractors, with the goal of further encouraging staff and students to carry and use their Compass ID cards, as well as to reduce contact between canteen staff and customers in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. I am also hoping to increase parent engagement with the Compass phone app through frequent reminders and prompts to encourage uptake of the Compass app. Show less

    • Library Assistant
      • Aug 2013 - Nov 2021

My role in the library began while completing my Diploma of Library/Information Services, as the location of my work placement. Upon completion of my work placement, I was asked by the then-Library Manager Ann Wilson if I would like to continue to volunteer in the library, to continue to develop my library skills until I completed my course and was able to secure a position in a library. Upon completing my course, I continued to volunteer while also gaining semi-regular casual employment, before successfully interviewing for a part-time position, officially becoming a member of the library staff. My roles and responsibilities have changed constantly during my time in the library, ranging from circulation, to stocktakes, to collection development. I have updated systems, helped to adjust the layout of the library, and provided crucial support while the library upgraded library management systems from AIMS to Infiniti, quickly becoming the foremost expert in Infiniti within our team.Key developments that I accomplished with the library include the establishment and development of the Series and Manga sections, putting a spotlight on highly popular and quickly expanding areas of the library, painting the library, completing a sorely needed cull of the non-fiction collection, suggesting and helping to implement a new classroom space within the library to capitalise on available space, and so much more. While my time in the library may be finished for now, I will always treasure it. I am proud of everything that I accomplished within the library, and am so deeply thankful for my experiences, as I know they will help me as I continue my career. Show less
