ZIA SF is a screen printing company with designs and elements of Chicano culture and identity. I wore a lot of hats, from graphic design and inventory management to consignment relationships, tradeshow and festival vending and finances and printing. We were featured in galleries and a book about the Mission Community Market but decided to close the business to pursue other projects. After getting my BFA in Experimental Animation, I feel fortunate to have even my side jobs be involved with the art world. Jobs over the years have included:  Volunteer Art Teacher: I spent every Tuesday of the 2015-16 school year at Visitacion Valley Middle School working as an assistant teacher through the SF Education Fund.  Freelance Art Tutor: I work with private students to help them prepare their art portfolios for submission to high schools and colleges.  Stop Motion Animation Instructor: For a semester in 2007, I created and taught a course in stop motion animation for students age 8 to 16, resulting in a collaborative video with stories and characters designed by each student.  Pottery Instructor and Kiln Technician: For more than four years, I worked part-time at Terra Mia Pottery Studio in San Francisco, where people can paint pre-made ceramic pieces for low-fire glazes. I led workshops, set up the studio, dipped ceramics, loaded and unloaded the kiln, and managed group events.  Exploratorium Exhibition Intern: My BFA internship was at the Exploratorium Museum of Science and Art, working on repairing and maintaining exhibits and constructing new exhibit prototypes.
