Bio
Carol Jacob DeGroff
Riel and I tackled an annual fundraiser together for several years, and I enjoyed working with him both professionally and personally. He is easy to collaborate with, open to feedback, and works incredibly hard to accomplish goals. His dedication to the organization and its mission was clear from his hard work, perseverance, and successes. Riel is one of those rare leaders that is able to effectively run an organization with heart, passion, and creativity. He expertly transitioned into the Executive Director role, and led Trail Blazers to new heights by expanding its board, expanding its fundraising capacity, and developing its programming. Riel is a smart, interesting person who is capable of building strong relationships with a wide variety of people. He is also an an effective communicator and excellent presenter. When I worked at Youth, I.N.C., we asked him to present at many events, knowing he would be articulate and inspiring. Any organization would be lucky to have Riel as part of their team. I certainly hope to work with him again in the future.

Riel, as a more seasoned camp veteran, has been extremely supportive in my new role. He is always willing to offer advice and answer any questions you may have. As an Executive, Riel is constantly trying to improve his programs and himself. He is always looking to stay at the cutting edge of technology to make his programs for accessible to his clients and families. He is also looking for new ways to improve the overall productivity of non-profits in the NY area by looking for ways to partner, with other similar non-profits and share resources, ultimately saving money and effecting more families.
