The Student Events Coordinator (SEC) is an entry-level position, working in a team environment, responsible for enhancing student life and creating campus community through a variety of programming initiatives. The SEC will primarily focus on logistical and promotional aspects of Students' Union events (UASUevents). Roles and responsibilities include:• Assisting in the planning, implementation, marketing, and recruitment of Students’ Union programming and special events.• Event management of various events, including: logistics, volunteer management, promotions, and same-day coordination.• Manage digital assets including digital projects (Photography, Cinematography) for UASUevents.• Communications and major campaigns directed towards students (Websites, Email Lists, Social Media, Marketing Projects).• Develop and maintain teams of over 300 volunteers dedicated towards fostering a welcoming environment for new and returning students.•Develop and maintain a team of volunteers dedicated to the capture of event media and the production of high quality productions for promotional purposes.•Create specialized training and design curriculum for the purpose of effective volunteer training.•Translation of core content from English to French.Project Highlights:•Brief podcast series with a focus on transition to the university community, featuring University community members.•Virtual campus tour of the University of Alberta North Campus with built in audio guidance.
