Project Karma (May 2014 - Jun 2014)Began working on project to auto-assign resources to webpages on Chrome for Android based on website visit rate and interaction.3. CSSValue investigation (Jul 2014 - Nov 2015)Designed & benchmarked a better memory allocation algorithm for CSS values. The aim was to reduce memory usage & improve performance of webpages in Chrome with large style sheets by storing data in pointer space (64 bits) rather than creating actual pointers.4. Project Ribbon & Clockwork (Dec 2015 - Nov 2016)Started and led 2 projects in the Chrome Style engine, both around refactoring. Allow CSS properties to be able to be expressed in terms of a custom CSS property API, and refactoring Chrome's web engine to be a generic "CSS property engine". The CSS values of an element could then dynamically change shape based on the characteristics of the page, saving memory & being more performant by reducing copies of these values. Also speed up propagating changes up by performing "smart diffs" of element style changes rather than recomputing style of each dirty element after a style update.5. Architecture (Dec 2016 - Nov 2017)Removing the web/ layer in Blink (a no-longer-needed API abstraction layer, involving deep C++ code analysis and complex detangling of dependencies), with a visualization tool. Then converted sequential, typeless IPC calls to Mojo calls (fully parallel, strongly typed).6. ChromeOS Files App (Dec 2017 - current)Tech Lead of the ChromeOS Files App. Part of a team of ~10 engineers (including myself) to work with PM and UX to design, implement and deploy fixes and features to the file manager app on ChromeOS.My patches land under the author "sashab@chromium.org".
