In addition to the typical role of a personal trainer, I also taught yoga classes and led group coaching sessions. I also achieved 6th place in the company for overall sales. As the fitness director, I managed the trainer staff and led professional development seminars to help them improve in their roles. As a coach, I spoke with people all over the country and helped them to achieve health goals from weight loss to smoking cessation. Some of my most successful clients managed to lose over 60 pounds and were able to come off of their blood pressure and blood sugar medications. In this position, I worked with clients to develop long-term exercise programs and taught numerous group exercise classes as well. Additional responsibilities included organizing programs such as “Lunch & Learn” lecture series, blood drives, fitness challenges, health fairs, and fundraisers. I wrote newsletter articles for both our local site and company-wide newsletters and eventually took over the design of our site's newsletter.
